Conduciveness Between Frameworks — A Working Analysis v1.0

The Beginning
Every man wants happiness, and incomplete happiness is not worth accepting if complete happiness is available. Complete happiness cannot depend on anything that can be taken from him. Only his assent cannot be taken. So the whole of what is at stake for him is the condition of his own faculty. Every rule below is derived from that and from nothing else.
What follows for this question is immediate. A framework harms a man in the degree that it obstructs correct assent, and the gravest obstruction is not a false judgment about any particular thing but a false judgment about the faculty that does the judging. That is why the Classical Ideological Audit’s C1 and C2 findings govern the dissolution verdict rather than merely contributing to it, and it is why conduciveness between frameworks must be measured at that node and not at the level of doctrinal content.
The Unit
Take each framework as occupying one of two states with respect to the prohairesis. Intact: the agent is presupposed to be a faculty prior to his conditions and the genuine originator of his assents. Dissolved, in whole or in part: the agent is presupposed to be constituted or determined by something else.
This is not a scale. It is a threshold, because what it decides is whether there remains anyone to be argued with.
The Rule
A framework that has dissolved the prohairesis removes the entry cost for any other framework requiring it dissolved. The second doctrine need supply only a new content at the value node; it need not supply a new account of the person, because the account is already in place and the man has already assented to it.
Content at C6 differentiates such frameworks from one another and can make them bitter rivals, but rivalry at the value node is not obstruction at the faculty node. This is why Epicureanism is conducive to Marxism at C1 while being repugnant to it at C6, and why the collapse of the Marxist project returns a man to something near the Epicurean position rather than to the corpus: what fails is the content, and the foundation is not touched by the failure.
The Asymmetry
Transfer between dissolving frameworks costs one substitution. Recovery from any of them costs the reconstruction of the agent, which is not a substitution but a reversal — and it must be performed by the very faculty the framework has taught him he does not have.
So traffic runs sideways cheaply and upward dearly, and the cost is not symmetrical in time either: a man may cross laterally in an afternoon of reading and spend years on the return.
Three Classes, on the Runs Completed
Dissolving frameworks return Divergent at C1 or C2. Epicureanism and Marxism. These are conducive to one another regardless of how their value contents differ, and they are the expensive ones to leave.
Displacing frameworks return Divergent at C6 with C1 and C2 intact or partial. Effective altruism is the only audited instance. These misplace the good while leaving the agent standing. They are conducive to other displacing frameworks — any doctrine locating the good externally will find the welfare-bearer congenial — and they are not conducive to the dissolving class, because a man who has been told his choices are genuinely his own has not been prepared to be told he is a product. Correspondingly they are cheap to leave: the arrears vanish when the good is relocated, and nothing has to be rebuilt.
The corpus is the only audited position with the faculty intact and the good correctly identified. It is reachable from the displacing class by one move, and from the dissolving class only by two, the first of which the framework itself has disabled.
Testable Consequences
The analysis earns its place only if later runs could falsify it. Three predictions follow.
- One. A framework returning Full Dissolution will be found conducive to every other Full Dissolution framework, whatever its C6 content, and no pair of audited dissolving frameworks will turn out mutually obstructive at the faculty node.
- Two. A framework returning No Dissolution with C6 Divergent will be found non-conducive to the dissolving class.
- Three. An argument addressed to a man holding a displacing framework can proceed directly to the value question, while an argument addressed to a man holding a dissolving framework must restore the agent first or it has no addressee.
If a future run produces a dissolving framework whose adherents are demonstrably reachable by the value argument alone, the third prediction fails and the rule requires revision.
What This Cannot Do
It says nothing about what any person believes. It cannot be run backward from a political position to a framework. It issues no verdict on any policy. Conduciveness is a relation between doctrines at a single node. A man’s actual movement between doctrines is a matter of biography, and the corpus has no theory of it and needs none.
On Whether This Warrants an Instrument
Not yet, and possibly not ever in its own right. What exists here is one rule with three predictions, and it operates only downstream of completed audits — it takes two runs as input and returns a relation, which makes it a procedure applied to findings rather than a procedure applied to a target. That is a real design constraint and an argument for building it as a section of the Classical Ideological Audit rather than as a free-standing tool: an optional Step 7, run only when a prior audit exists to compare against. The case for a separate instrument would rest on its taking inputs the audit does not produce, and at present it takes none.
Status
The rule at the centre is a philosophical claim and not a finding of any instrument. The three classes are drawn from three completed runs, which is not a series, and the three predictions are untested. The document is filed as a working analysis on that basis.
